Career
Dr. Amundson is President and CEO of Quality Quest for Health, a collaboration between Caterpillar Inc. and OSF Healthcare System in central Illinois. Quest's mission is to achieve exceptional patient service and outcomes by catalyzing healthcare transformation.
Dr. Amundson was attracted to Quality Quest for Health by the unique opportunity the collaboration between a global company and a respected healthcare system presents for transforming healthcare. Prior to joining Quality Quest for Health, Dr. Amundson served as Medical Director for Quality, Measurement and Provider Incentives at HealthPartners in Minnesota where she has been effective in working with and motivating many groups of physicians throughout Minnesota to improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Amundson initiated the development and reporting of 'All-or-None' composite measures endorsed nationally by the Institute of Medicine. Her program won the prestigious National Quality Forum's 2007 National Quality Healthcare Award for fostering a culture of transparency and accountability and stimulating improvements in quality and efficiency. The National Business Group on Health recognized her efforts with its prestigious 2006 Award for Excellence and Innovation in Value Purchasing. Dr. Amundson is a principle founder of MN Community Measurement© a statewide collaborative reporting single source quality information of provider groups (http://www.mnhealthcare.org/). She served as co- chair of Minnesota Bridges to Excellence Guiding Coalition and was recently recognized with the inaugural MN Community Measurement© 2007 Quality Measurement Leadership Award.
Dr. Amundson is board certified in internal medicine and holds a certificate of added proficiency in geriatrics. She serves on a number of national committees and panels of the American College of Physicians, the Joint Commission, the National Quality Forum, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund. Dr. Amundson is also a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
